Every aircraft has a black box. Your trading account should too.
BlackBox records every fill on your MT5 account, second by second: the price you asked for, the price you got, the spread, the broker's time to fill and your connection. When a trade goes wrong, you open the box and see exactly what happened.

Two recorders, like on a plane
What the market and the broker did
- Requested price, stop or limit level and the price you got
- Spread at the moment of sending and of filling
- Broker server time from order to fill, in milliseconds
- Every tick a few seconds around each fill and each spread spike
On a plane: the flight data recorder — speed, altitude, controls.
What you and your EA did
- Orders sent, modified and rejected, with the reason code
- Which EA (magic number) or manual click placed each order
- Your ping to the trading server at each trade
- Equity every few minutes, so drawdown is never hidden
On a plane: the cockpit voice recorder — what the crew did and said.
The panel on your chart counts it live: fills today, slippage today, spread paid today, spread spikes and the last fill that went against you.
After an incident, open the box
Pick any trade — a stop loss that filled badly, a spike at news, a requote — and press Replay. BlackBox rebuilds it millisecond by millisecond: bid, ask and spread around the fill, your level, the price you got, how long the broker took, and the factors that were present.
- 1 · RECORD
Always on. The EA records in the background on any chart; nothing to start before a trade.
- 2 · REPLAY
Ticks, spread and your order on one timeline, from a few seconds before to a few seconds after the fill.
- 3 · LEARN
Change the session, order type, account type or VPS — or take the record to your broker.
A profitable strategy that still lost money
The strategy made +$180. Spread, commission, slippage and swap took $600. The balance ended at −$420.
Without a recording, most traders would change the strategy. With one, the fix is often cheaper: a lower-cost account type, a different session, limit orders instead of stops, or a VPS closer to the server.
A record nobody can edit
Each package the EA sends carries a fingerprint of the one before it. Change a single number in an old package and every fingerprint after it stops matching, so any edit shows. That is what lets you, and your broker, trust the record.
Investigation, not blame
Like an air accident report, BlackBox shows what was recorded and which factors were present: a fast market, a wider spread, the order type, the broker's time to fill, your connection. As more traders join, you will also see how others on the same server were filled in the same second.
BlackBox only shows what was recorded. It does not judge your broker — the decision is yours.
Install the recorder in 3 steps
Need screenshots? Download the install guide (PDF)
- STEP 1
Get your key
Create a free IndicatorFree account and copy your personal BlackBox key from the dashboard. One key works for all your MT5 accounts and terminals.
- STEP 2
Attach the EA
Copy the EA to MQL5\Experts, attach it to any one chart, tick “Allow DLL imports” and paste your key into “Your BlackBox key”.
- STEP 3
Fly as usual
The first upload arrives within minutes (or press “Send now”). After that BlackBox syncs about once an hour, sooner after news or a spread spike.
Your data, your control
- Your account number is encrypted and never shown in public.
- Your dashboard is private. A public signal page exists only if you turn it on.
- Your key is yours: make a new one any time; stop recording any account in one click.
- BlackBox never downloads or installs anything by itself and never touches your trades.
Built with the trader community
Aviation became safe because every incident was recorded and shared. Every account running BlackBox adds anonymous fills to a shared record of how brokers really execute: spread at news, slippage on stop orders, time to fill. The same checks apply to every broker, including the ones we work with.
Public cases
No answer from your broker? Open a public case from the fills BlackBox recorded. The broker can reply in public, other traders can add what they measured, and only you can mark it resolved.

Help us make trading more transparent
Share BlackBox with your trader friends. Every trader who records adds to a shared record of how brokers really execute — that keeps the community honest, pushes brokers to be more transparent, and helps everyone get better service.
Trading involves risk. BlackBox reports recorded data; it is not investment advice.
