FTMO rules

EAs with limits

The oldest of the big forex prop firms. A 2-step challenge with a static loss floor, and a 1-step version with a trailing floor and a consistency rule.

Prague, Czech Republic · founded 2015 · MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView · rules checked on ftmo.com on 2026-10-25

Expert AdvisorsWith limits

EAs and algorithmic trading are allowed if the strategy could be repeated on a live account. Bots that flood the server (over 2,000 requests a day), latency or feed-delay tricks and ultra-fast tools are banned. Third-party EAs are allowed, but an account can be refused if many traders run the same EA.

How the daily loss is measured. 3% of the initial capital, counted down from the balance at midnight; equity may not go below it during the day. Resets at 00:00 Prague time (CE(S)T).

Max loss. Trails the highest end-of-day balance: the floor is (highest end-of-day balance, at least the initial capital) − 10% of initial capital. It only moves up.

Consistency. Your best day may be at most 50% of total profit (accounts ordered from 12 Oct 2026). Going over is not a breach; you keep trading until it drops below 50%.

Payouts and other rules. First reward 14 days after the first trading day, then on request. No minimum trading days and no time limit. The fee is not refunded.
