- Fair value gapPrice action & SMCA fair value gap is a price range left behind by one fast candle. The wick of the candle before it and the wick of the candle after it do not overlap, so almost no two-way trading happened inside that range.
- False breakoutBreakouts & sessionsA false breakout is when price closes beyond a support, resistance or range edge, can't stay there, and closes back inside the range or back on the original side of the level, often followed by a move the other way.
- Fibonacci retracementSupply, demand & key levelsA Fibonacci retracement is a set of horizontal levels drawn across one finished price move, at 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8% and 78.6% of its size. Traders use them to judge where a pullback may pause before the original move resumes.
- ForexForex basicsForex (foreign exchange, or FX) is the global market where currencies are traded in pairs, such as EUR/USD. People use it to convert money, hedge currency risk and speculate on exchange rates.
- Forward testBacktesting & statisticsA forward test runs a trading strategy, with its rules already fixed, on new prices it has never seen: a held-back slice of history, a demo account or a small live account. It checks whether backtest results survive outside the data they were built on.
- Free marginRisk & money managementFree margin is the part of your account equity that is not locked up as margin for open trades. It equals equity minus used margin, and it is the money available to open new positions and to absorb floating losses.
- Fresh zoneSupply, demand & key levelsA fresh zone is a supply or demand zone that price has not come back to since the strong move that created it. Traders expect unfilled orders to still sit there, so they treat the first return as the best entry.
- Fundamental analysisForex basicsFundamental analysis means judging a market's value and direction from its economic causes: for a stock, the company's earnings and debt; for a currency, interest rates, inflation, jobs and growth, compared with what traders already expect.
